Dogs and grass don’t get along. Paws wear the lawn down to dirt, rain turns it to mud, and the mud ends up on your floors. Pet turf fixes all three. We install permeable artificial grass built for dogs across Montgomery County and Harris County, with antimicrobial infill and a base that drains. Your yard stays green, clean and usable every day of the year.

Why Dog Owners Switch to Pet Turf

  • No more mud. Rain drains through and off the turf instead of pooling on bare dirt, so your dog comes inside with clean paws.
  • No dead spots. Urine burns brown patches into natural grass. Pet turf stays green.
  • No digging holes to fill. Turf over a compacted base gives diggers nothing to work with.
  • No mowing, watering or fertilizer. You get the yard back, and your dog stays away from lawn chemicals.
  • Safe to play on. We install non-toxic synthetic grass.

How Pet Turf Drains

Pet turf has a permeable backing, so liquid passes straight through and off the turf instead of sitting on top. Under it, we build a compacted decomposed granite base that lets water move down and away. On yards with heavy clay or low spots, we add drainage when and where it’s needed. We check that during the free on-site estimate, not after the turf is down.

The result is a dog area you can rinse with a hose in a few minutes.

Odor Control and Infill

Odor comes from urine that stays trapped in the turf or base. We fight it two ways: a base that drains, and antimicrobial infill brushed into the turf. The infill also holds the blades upright, so high-traffic runs don’t flatten.

For most yards, a weekly rinse of the spots your dog uses keeps it fresh. Multi-dog homes and dog runs may also need a pet-safe turf deodorizer now and then.

Built on a Compacted Decomposed Granite Base

The base is what makes pet turf last. A soft or poorly compacted base settles under running dogs and leaves dips where water and odor collect. We excavate, then lay and compact decomposed granite in layers and slope it for drainage before any turf goes down. It’s the same compacted decomposed granite base we use under every installation.

Pet Turf for Every Kind of Yard

Backyard Dog Areas

A full yard or just the side yard your dogs actually use.

Dog Runs

Denser, higher-durability turf for the strip along the fence that takes the most wear.

Multi-Dog Homes

Extra attention to drainage and infill for heavy daily use.

Pet Care Businesses

Dog daycares, boarding facilities, apartment dog parks and other pet care facilities. See commercial turf installation.

What Pet Turf Costs

Artificial turf installation in our area typically runs $5 to $20 per square foot installed. Where a project falls depends on the turf you choose, how much excavation and base work the yard needs, and whether drainage has to be added. Small dog runs cost more per square foot than large yards, because setup is the same either way.

Every estimate is free and done on site, so the price reflects your yard, not a guess. Financing is available. See our full artificial turf cost guide.

Warranty

Your turf carries a 15-year manufacturer warranty, and our installation carries a 2-year labor warranty.

Caring for Pet Turf

  • Pick up solid waste as you would on grass.
  • Hose down the spots your dog uses about once a week. More often in hot, dry weeks.
  • Brush high-traffic areas every few months to keep the blades standing.
  • Book a professional cleaning and infill top-up once a year for busy dog areas. See turf maintenance and cleaning.

Pet Turf FAQs

Turf over a compacted base is much harder to dig than dirt or grass, and most dogs give up quickly.

Yes. We install turf for dog daycares, boarding facilities, apartment dog parks and other pet care facilities across Montgomery County and Harris County.

Pick up solid waste as you would on grass, then hose the spot if needed. For busy dog areas, we recommend a professional cleaning and infill top-up once a year.

Artificial turf installation in our area typically runs $5 to $20 per square foot installed, depending on the turf, the base work and whether drainage is needed. The on-site estimate is free, and financing is available.

We install non-toxic synthetic grass. Like any surface in direct Texas sun, turf gets warm on summer afternoons, so give your dog shade and water as you would anywhere outside.

Liquid passes through and off the permeable backing into the base and drains away. Rinse those spots with a hose about once a week.

A 15-year manufacturer warranty on the turf and a 2-year labor warranty on our installation.

Not if it’s installed right and rinsed. Odor comes from urine trapped in the turf or base. A draining compacted decomposed granite base, antimicrobial infill and a weekly rinse of the spots your dog uses keep it fresh.
